Color variation on t206 kid elberfeld (washington)

Hello to all- wanted some help on this because of the rarity of this card. I have 2 psa 6's that have a vivid red background, i recently purchased an sgc 84 in a major auction house and the color is orange..... Any thoughts or opinions about a value difference?

'Orange instead of red' is fairly common on T206's, but of course the red is more common. I've never seen an orange-background Elberfeld, so very cool. A lot has been said about color anomalies in T206's, but what's nice about the orange background variations is that they look 'normal'. When I collected HOF'er portraits, I wasn't happy until I had an orange-background Tinker. Oddly, VCP chose the orange variation for their image:

You did good. Enjoy, but let me know if you want to divest yourself of it :)

Meant to respond to this, but got caught up thinking about the printing process. I'm kind of surprised no one's interested in chiming in here - the T205 'print flaw' topics died a quick death as well. :(

I have never seen the orange Elberfeld, Wash before, but I paid a lot for the orange-background Tinker I once had. One of my selling regrets.

how orange is orange?? it makes a big difference in demand

here are 2 examples of orange portrait cards that should be red
(scans I have saved, never owned the Cobb, the Tinker I sold off years ago)

Frank- it is not as vivid an orange as the 2 examples you scanned, but there is definitely a significant difference in the color versus the normal red background. I have tried to post scans before on net54, but i have adobe reader and can't figure out how to post them on the thread. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.... Kevin

The one Frank posted looks exactly like the one I had. He might have sold it to me.

Kevin - email the scan to me and I'll post it, plus do what I can to help you to it by yourself.
