Harmon Killebrew help
1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
I've spent a lot of time reading through old threads and am quite amazed at the knowledge of many members here. I would not consider myself an expert by any means, but I do enjoy spending my time learning about the big forgeries (Mantles, Williams, etc). This is why I am here. I know the general form of a Killebrew autograph, but couldn't tell a real one from a fake one. I'm asking opinions on the following signed baseball and inscription. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andrew |
Looks good to me!

Looks great! Wish I could find one with that inscription!

Textbook Killebrew signature. I have owned over 700 of his autographs, he had great penmanship. I guess this one is the 1 percent that is actually authentic when posted for opinions, right :). The next 99 ones shown have got to be fake:cool:

Looks good.

Wow!! That's so impressive! I know his sig decently well, but I will defer to you always :). What are your thoughts on the year for this signed rookie I have? I'm thinking rookie year or year two, but can't pin it down. Thanks in advance!Attachment 198024 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Not able to see it well enough based on the scan. As an aside, almost all that I had were from the 1970s through 1990s, not from early career.

I cannot say specifically which year, but I would definitely say pre Twins and very early. According to PSA autograph facts, the signature matches very well against a 1955 version they have posted. Very nice example. |

Thank you for your help! Figured it was around that time frame, may be the only early era signature rookie of his. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have an in person autogtaphed picture of Harmon Killebrew obtained at a technique camp on in Sioux Falls, SD in the 1990s. It is signed "Best Wishes to Tyosn and Todd Harmon Killebrew HOF 84" and it looks nearly identical to your photo.

When you see a Killebrew signature that looks close, it's probably authentic. I'd bet Killebrew forgeries are a lot more rare than the authentic ones...like this gem I saw on Ebay (but it has a PSA/DNA slab of approval on it!)!:
