What set is this from?

Posted By: Ben
Hi everyone. It's been a while since I've posted here. It was recently brought to my attention that the card pictured below is not what I had thought it was. I previously assumed that it was an Orange Border. Niles isn't catalogued in the set though, and a board member mentioned a few differences between this card and the typical O.B such as the rounded inner black border. So what is it from?

Posted By: Joe D.
Its a very cool looking card - and very similar to the orange border set... but not an "Orange Borders" for the points already mentioned - rounded inner black border (orange borders have squared black border), and as Robert has pointed out the white around the name.

The Orange Borders are an orange rectangle with black printed on top of that rectangle (overprinting, not knocking out of)... so you wouldn't see the white around the name like that even if the black was out of fit.

I wish I did know what kind of card the Niles is... its pretty awesome. A mystery to me.

Posted By: Jay
Hello,

I ran a query for you on all Niles cards. I then narrowed down for the years where he would be portrayed in Boston uniform. I have no idea, and hope it is one of the following:

1908-09 Rose Company PC760 Harry Niles 52
1909 Boston Herald Supplements Harry Niles 9
1910 American Caramel Die Cuts E125 Harry Niles 29

Let me know if you find anything,
Jay Kaplan
