Posted By: t206King
Yeah i no its not a real holder. i no the seller vary well (fellow member on the board here) and he provided better scans. its real, but the scan makes it look fake. has scotch tape on most of the card, makes it look funny. i will scan it when i get it. If it was counterfeit, it would have been stated in the SGC package. thanks for the help though

His skills however, are about the equal of mine.

Where does this leave me with regard to my statements about grader terminology? I guess ALT ain't bad. But what happened to Authentic?

Posted By: t206King
was given ALT because it has tape and glue on it(corner was off at one point i bet) . it would be authentic if nothing wrong other than paper loss, creases etc etc.

Posted By: Gilbert Maines
Oh I will admit T206King, that I am more thick than the average brick; but are you telling me that if I take an authentic card, add tape and glue to it, it becomes non-authentic? Altered yes, but still authentic, I would think.

Posted By: steve f
King,

After much coaxing, Orlando/PSA agreed to encapsulate a T3 Matthewson that had a long piece of old Scotch tape applied to the back, keeping a large crease/tear "stable" (it was close to seperation). Initially, it was PSA rejected.

More than anything, I wanted it slabbed to reduce furthur tearing through handling. Realizing it was a Matty and hi-val, they finally agreed to accept my fifty bucks

It is untrimmed, uncolored and no other enhancements. This card is now slabbed "Authentic" and "Altered"... Hurts the value some, but gives peace of mind.
