Is it that expansive that it precludes you from walking around? When I attend I hit every aisle the first day.

He is just trying to save time. Might take three days to find someone, but 15 minutes if someone responds.

Maybe I have a handicap. Would that satisfy you? Just wondering.

I'm guessing you don't or you would have referred to it as a disability. Any luck finding Negro League material?

From the day I spent I did not see a specific table that had more than an item or two. Love of the Game had three cards, which I assume will be up at an upcoming auction.

Probstein did have his Josh Gibson photo that he is selling for $300k obo on eBay. I also saw a large team photo in a frame of the famous Dominican Ciudad Trujillo. The famous team that was recruited by the Dictator via Satchel Paige for $30k in 1937. I guess that is why this stuff gets gobbled up a pretty high premium as it is really not plentiful.

I also saw that Trujillo photo, but only by default. While I was looking at some cases at the booth someone was inquiring about it. The owner was pointing out the various players. I believe the quoted price was in the mid to high five figures or low 6 figures. It was not in my collecting focus so not all of the conversation stuck with me. I do believe the customer was serious about purchasing it as they did ask the owner if they would entertain an offer if it was still there on Sunday.

Are you such a dick that it precludes him from asking a simple question?

My middle name is dick, by the way.

You would have gotten a kick out of a site I saw at The National: Some 20 or 30 something pushing around what looked like an amp case with two of those nuclear football card cases on top of it. You were the first person I thought of when I saw it.

I actually badly need a knee replacement. Not the most tragic thing in the world but comes with age 60 closing in on me I guess.

Very little negro league stuff. Would have thought there would be one vendor specifically devoted to it but no. A few random things here and there. One off photo here and there. Didn't see any Cuban cards or anything like that. I'm not sure anyone with good Negro League stuff is particularly interested in selling.

By all means don't put off the knee replacement. I had both done in 2012 at age 63. It made a great difference in my mobility and gave me unlimited endurance. I slipped in 2017 and tore the right one up, and it was much easier than when I got both of them done at the same time. This process has extended my ability to function as a dealer by 10 years. Age is now catching up and the knees are still solid, but there are concessions everyone makes with old age.
