Pre-War Collecting Year in Review

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy
I'm curious as to what kind of year people had in collecting pre-war items in 2007. I was cleaning up my database, and I was surprised to learn that I traded away or sold as many items as I purchased during the year.

Sold:

Novelty Cutlery Postcard, Roger Bresnahan
T210 Old Mill, Lucia, Lynchburg
T212-2 Obak, Fisher, Portland
T332 Helmar Stamp, Bresnahan
T332 Helmar Stamp, George Gibson
T332 Helmar Stamp, Chief Meyers
T322 Helmar Stamp, Gabby Street
T322 Helmar Stamp, Ira Thomas
T322 Helmar Glassine Mailing Envelope

Purchased:

Boston Sunday Post Magazine Cover
B18 Eddie Ainsmith (Upgrade)
E101 Red Kleinow
E136-2 Barney Burch 1912 Zeenut
E137 1915 Spencer Zeenut w/o coupon
PB1 Catcher Pin (Upgrade)
T212-3 1911 Obak Tom Murray
T212-3 1911 Obak Jack Roche
Unc Supplement, Chief Meyers Philadelphia Evening Times

How was 2007 for each of your collections? Pre-War Collecting Year in Review

Posted By: Dave Hornish
Patrick:

I don't keep nearly as good records as you do. I also, based upon what you bought in 2007, don't have nearly as nice a collection as you

I made the decision to concentrate on a few, specific areas and in Pre-War it was mostly T206 and old Dodgers/Robins/Superbas cards. I'm happy how the T206 set progressed this year, started with 1 card and now have 38. The goal for 2008 is to get to 100.
Pre-War Collecting Year in Review

Posted By: john/z28jd
I dont keep an exact list of transactions like Patrick but I know I got 27 Old Judge cards this year with Anson and Delahanty being the best names but far from the nicest. I also bought a 34 Goudey Chick Hafey and an e120 Bill Wambsganns but besides that I cant think of another pre-war card but there was probably something else. Havent sold or traded anything in years
