Guaranteed Original

Looks like a screaming deal on a mint Cobb, as long as you don't remove or tamper seal. Who's going to pop?

I'm spitting up my lunch now. Must be Leif's older brother.

Or maybe we're talking about the same person? Lou Garrett - the Iron Horace :D

Bill77 07-25-2018 01:32 PM

I'm not sure I would take the chance on the Horace. The seal looks like it has been tampered with.

Either he was on something writing it or I was on something reading it.

It only gets better:

I feel bad for the guy now.

It is actually an authentic and genuine fake. Those are much better than a fake reproduction.

The seller “ships from United States,” according to eBay. I was genuinely surprised to learn that.

Well, at least it won't take long to get to the lucky winner!!

"good luck to whoever wins in a bidding war or I’ll also have a buy it now option don’t miss a chance to get this card or let the next man or woman get your memorabilia your piece of history because nothing says American like hotdogs hamburgers apple pie Babe Ruth Lou Garrett and the Yankees good luck to you, I ship immediately but only after I received A message stating that the buyer has made payment"

This last sentence of the description reminds me of the infinite monkey theorem.

However, I think we need more monkeys, typewriters and time to get this back to legibility.

pokerplyr80 07-28-2018 02:43 PM

Also from his product description, "don’t miss a chance to get this card or let the next man or woman get your memorabilia your piece of history because nothing says American like hotdogs hamburgers apple pie Babe Ruth Lou Garrett and the Yankees"

Great stuff! Nothing says American like Lou Garrett.

Sean 07-28-2018 04:00 PM

I wonder if this Lou Garrett ever had a disease named after him. Perhaps it causes people to write moronic things on ebay.

commishbob 07-28-2018 05:02 PM

Looking at the listing must have highjacked my browser because when I googled Lou Garrett just for the heck of it Lou Gehrig 'hits' came up. :)

Leon 07-31-2018 08:46 PM

LOL....I think ebay might have developed s/w to do just that, hijack our computers so they can take us where they want us to go.

It appears that some of these fakes are getting pulled by eBay. But there is still time to get this one. A Honus Wagner T206 with a Drum back. Starting price $20,000. Sorry for outing this one.

I made a very fair offer of $1, but was declined. Oh, well.

Seller also has a Wagner/ Piedmont and a Wagner/ Polar Bear. I'm surprised that he doesn't have a Wagner/Coupon.

He also has a "1932 Babe Ruth Abdulla." I've never heard of these. Does anyone know what they are? I'm not asking if this one is real, I just want to know what issue a real one would be from.

Also left fingerprints on back of card - could come in handy if you need to do a skiptrace.
