Any T205 back runs?

8 Attachment(s)
Here's a T205 Bridwell back run in progress. Why Bridwell? I collect NY Giants cards and I got the Broadleaf on eBay from a guy with 0 feedback in an offshore U.S. territory for a good price and went from there. Any other T205 back runs?

kmac32 06-25-2016 11:03 PM

Plenty of them and too many to post as I am collecting a collection of all the Cubs with their various backs. Currently up to 94 cards out of 151 possibilities. There are 19 different card fronts and I have examples of all with assorted backs. Reulbach has at least 7 backs and I have them all

Hi Rob

Here are my A - B - C - D back runs of T205's......

Bergen and Wolter are confirmed with DRUM. Huggins and Lobert have not yet been found with the DRUM back. However, I believe that they
will be, because my aforementioned theory says that the same T205's with AMERICAN BEAUTY (brown) - BROAD LEAF - CYCLE - DRUM cards
were printed simultaneously. Furthermore, there are exactly 32 subjects in the T205 set printed with this A - B - C - D sub-set.

Refer to this thread for more info on this A-B-C-D theory......
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=197200

I have complete confidence in my A - B - C - D theory; therefore, I expect Lobert will eventually be discovered with the DRUM back.

Here's mine.
The condition is all over the place, and that I'm aware of, it's still missing the American Beauty, Polar Bear and Honest Long Cut, but I like it.

As you already know that Gibson AB is a hard one to track down. I was glad when I was able to check it off of my want list for my AB subset.

All Reulbach all the time

Yep. I've seen about 2 in 8 years. I think you got the second one -- which is still good for me, because it's one less person looking ;)

And that AB subset has gotta be tough. We don't talk about T205 print runs like the T206s, but I've gotta believe there is a print run that the Gibson was part of that is tough across the board in the AB back.

Do you have a sense of how many are actually in the subset?

Richard.

As my signature notes there should be 88 AB cards. 32 Black and 56 Green.

There are a few that are really tough to find. Mathewson is one of the toughest and believe that may be the one that gives me the most trouble as there are going to be many people that want that one when(if) it comes up for sale.

Nice cards, y'all. Thanks for posting them. And, good luck in the search for more T205s.

I was able to pick up a few more and I think I may be close to finishing this Bridwell run. I have an AB on the way and believe I still need Piedmont 25 and HLC. Does anyone know if this card has other backs that I'm missing? Piedmont 42 etc? I looked on SGC and they list all these backs except Sov (shown here) SGC pop report is the only place I know to find player back info for T205 on the web now that they don't have the t205Resource page.

He has a BroadLeaf Black, Cycle, Drum, Hassan 30, Hassan 649, HLC, Pied-25, Pied-42, Polar Bear, Sovereign, and Sweet Cap Red.

Here is the list I took from T205resource before it was taken down.

Thanks for that info, Andy. Looks like I need Hassan 30, HLC, and both Piedmonts..still a ways to go..Rob

I am at card 97 out of 151 of my T205 Cubs back subset. Some cards are definitely tougher than others. Good luck on the Piedmont 42 cards. Found a few but relatively rare. AB is tough also and of course Drum and Hindus.

RCMcKenzie 07-03-2016 11:45 PM

T205 Piedmont 42

Ken, that's a great T205 Cubs run you have going. Good luck with it. Yeah, when I learned that I need a Piedmont 42 of a specific card, I realized it may be a while. Good thing I have other unfinished projects to work on.

Sorry to revive an old thread but curious, without sifting through 15 yrs of threads, has anyone done a Polar Bear subset?

familytoad 01-12-2017 07:00 PM

Polar

We have a guy in OBC doing a Polar Bear T205 run, but I am not sure if he is on this board (hi Ken if you are!)

Is there something specific you wanted to know about the PB run?

I have been thinking about the Cycle run because I "need" the Marty 37-1 anyway to make an eventual master set. Please someone talk me about of it:rolleyes:

kmac32 01-12-2017 08:36 PM

I have a complete Polar Bear T205 Cubs run in my T205 Cubs subset. Up to 129 out of 152 possible cards for my Cubbies.

Thanks Brian (and thanks Ken, that's an awful lot of PBs).

I was just curious and after I asked the question found an old master list of the PB possibilities. I am going to take it real slow and real easy, and not go after high grade....but am going to start a set/subset of cards, mostly PB, that have the look I want. I have always said I think the T205 set is the, or one of the, best looking vintage sets there is. I would like a whole set with these borders, if possible. I love the different shades of gold!!

tedzan 01-13-2017 09:02 AM

In post #3 here, I show my T205 John Lobert A = B = C = D connection (still looking for his DRUM card).

And, here's my T205 Huggins A = B = C = D connection (any help finding his DRUM card will be really appreciated).

Although, these are short run's, they reveal a distinct pattern that is associated with only 32 subjects in the T205 set.

American Lithographic first printed this A = B = C = D pattern on the cards in the 350 Series of the T206 set,
