My first T206!!!!!

I know for many of you this is "old hat" but for me, this is a bloody big deal! My first ever T206 card and it's one of my favorite players in baseball History, RUBE WADDELL!!!

condition isn't great, but considering the price I paid ($35) I think it was a steal!

Congrats, Nick! That's a good price for a T206 HOFer that's still in one piece!

Watch out Nick, The T206 Addiction is tough to kick !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Personally, I can quit any time I want to

hahaha! I'm trying to stay off that needle if I can. Been trying to get as nice and as old a card for as many HOF'ers as I can and collecting Braves cards as well. Luckily, my lack of excessive funds should help me stay away from T206 addiction.

I must admit tho, I have been perusing ebay lately looking for more deals on lower condition T206 Boston Rustlers cards..... dammit :-p

I was so hoping it was a Magee Portrait...

Nice card, welcome to the monster

clydepepper 06-27-2016 03:39 PM

Congratulations, Nick.

A Rube is a good start!

There was a recent post about how hard it is to find graded Magee portraits on ebay. Either way, congrats on the Waddell! That's one on the top of my list, fantastic pickup :)

Thanx! hey folks, I was looking around today on ebay and came across this auction : http://www.ebay.com/itm/222163934122...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

now he lists it as a reprint with this cryptic language that hints it might be real. Now, as a total noob on these things (aside from lusting for them from afar as a younger guy) I pulled up a legit PSA 3 auction of the same card and couldn't spot the difference.

so, my question is, how do you sift through the reprints to find the real thing? When I was younger all reprints had "reprint" or "RP" on them somewhere, these look legit, especially to a novice.

Nick,

first off congrats.

Second off if you can point me in the direction of the seller who is selling HOF cards for $35 I'd appreciate it!

Ugh, very fake, don't touch it. If someone isn't willing to commit firmly to authenticity it is never worth the gamble ESPECIALLY as a novice buyer.

I'm currently watching a couple of other auctions by this guy for old (what became the Braves) Boston T206 cards. let's just say he said up front he knows nothing about cards and is trying to sell em for wtvr he can get)

Sean 06-27-2016 05:15 PM

That Johnson is clearly fake. That seller is referenced in another thread about fakes.
