OT: Girl receives autograph in mail 27 years later
I thought this was a great story. Nice to hear a positive story for a change.

It was a great story and it also was great that the lady sent a Thank You note back to Zack.

Great story. I collected TTM autos for a number of years. I did once have a return take just short of 3,000 days to come back, but 27 years?!
Also had a situation where I sent to an older retired former player, and heard just a few days later that he'd passed away. I felt bad about sending a card to someone who likely hadn't been in good health. 2 days later, I opened my mailbox and found the card I'd sent that player, returned signed. It must have been just about the last autograph he signed before passing away. That was years ago and I can't even remember the details of who it was, but it was pretty amazing. |
My record was Keir Dullea. Took 7 years. Went to an address I hadnt lived at in 5. The person there found my work number and was nice enough to call me. I brought them a gift card for helping me out :)

I wrote to Mike Singletary with the Bears and never heard back. Seven years later I wrote again. A year later I got both back within a week. My record was 8 and 1/2 years. I wrote Kelly Tripucka in 1990 and I got him back in early 1999. I had served in the military and moved several times, so no way any of my old requests will ever find me now.

For the record, I live your tag line too. :)

My record is 14 years when last year I got an SASE back from Dale Murphy mailed in 2004. Now I have kids so I don't have time for that stuff.
