My Aurelio Lopez arrived today, 9 cards left.

I'm at 208. Gary Lucas, Denis Menke (Astros Leaders) and Jose Guzman have all come back. I recently was given a gift of Lou Piniella and Dwight Lowry.

Recent additions are Rick Sutcliffe, Bill Madlock, Steve Trout and Ken Phelps.

I'm up to 215. I got Tommy John back from a signing, plus Andre Thornton and Dave Kingman were returns today.

I received a Roy Smalley return today. So now it's 216.

It's 217 with a private signing mail order return from Von Hayes.

Well, I can at least enjoy today's successes as opposed to yesterday's failures. Neil Allen and Rich Yett came in. It's 222 now.

Wow. So I sent in a mail order for the St. Louis Show this weekend for a couple of players and Jorge Orta won't be attending. It looks like he has cancelled appearances before. Something has happened with his new agent and cut off contact, now he might've left the country.
I don't know the situation, but I'm disappointed. Anybody else have trouble with Orta before? |

Great returns thus far. I'm concentrating on the 83' set and sent out about 100 in Nov/Dec. I need to get back on it. I saw you recieved a return from Balboni, I got a RTS that he moved in Dec. Guess it was a bad address.

I got a return from Carl Willis and bought a signed Ken Howell card for $2.00. So now it's 231.

I see Dennis McKinnon is doing a signing this month and his 1986 Topps card, which he is notorious for not signing, is available for signature at $35.00, though higher than a ticket for other items.
Maybe there's hope for us who want Ricky Wright after all. |
I was able to get Rich Bordi on his base card last year and got him a second time today, this time for the Orioles Leaders card.

I'm debating with others over the Wright. Meanwhile, Sid Bream signed his base card as well as the Pirates Leaders for me, putting me at 235.

I am guessing that if that Wright was real the bidding would be greater.

Here's a quick run down of the guys that might be challenging and/or costly to acquire: HOFers- Randy Johnson Hank Aaron TBTC (he's very pricey these days) Gary Carter (has 3 cards in the set (base, All-Star, highlights), and he did not sign cards made after 1984 for free, so anyone who obtained these cards probably did so for their own private collection, which limits the amount that would be available to the public now.) Kirby Puckett (probably not hard to find per se but may be more expensive than you'd first think since his death was sudden and unexpected) Deceased players- Tim Crews Pascual Perez Frank Williams Bo Diaz (passed in Venezuela in 1990, would be very hard to find) Carmen Castillo (he hated signing) Toughies- Fred Manrique Hipolito Pena Jim Traber Mel Hall Andy Allanson Johnny Paredes Mike Diaz German Jimenez Jose Cecena Stan Jefferson Carlos Quintana Candy Sierra German Gonzalez Wil Tejada Barry Bonds (even though he's involved in the game again, he's super tough) Hope that helps. |
