I was able to add another stadium sign to my Forbes Field collection. I was actually able to find a picture of the sign hanging in the stadium. It also includes the original hanging bracket which I’ve never seen before.

Nice finds, Jim. What's the football disc?

Day #2 of pounding the Daytona Beach antique stores. Small finds, but the hunt was fun!

I think the Harvard pinback is early 1900’s. I believe the full pack of Yankee matches may be 1960’s. The Yankees pinback is from the 1967/1968 Krey Meats/Rold Gold baseball team issues.

Same here...

Not just to find the insanely rare Forbes Field relic itself.... But to find a vintage photo of that very sign hanging from the rafters of that specific section.

Seems next to impossible.... incredible pickup!

Adding to the Forbes field pickups. A snapshot from somewhere (apparently) around 1911-1915. I cannot date it precisely. Maybe someone can?

Not the kind of snap I'd usually go after but the cool pov from beyond the fence looking in mixed with being very early really spoke to me. Also, mentioned by my friend it appears there are some kids peering through the fence trying to catch a glimpse.

Picked up two copies of this 1968 broadside for the Houston Astros and Astrowrold (and the Houston Stars soccer team). They are very colorful.

This was an eBay find so it was all just good timing on my part.

It was just good timing on my part and I was lucky that I had previously saved a picture of that exact sign. I had hunted out for pictures of that style sign previously as I already had a different section sign from Forbes.

Pete Runnels was my favorite Washington Senator when I was a kid. It broke my heart when, on January 23, 1958, the Senators traded Runnels to the Boston Red Sox, where he proceded to have the 5 best years of his career, for Albie Pearson & Norm Zauchin. Despite this heartbreak, being an avid collector of Runnels cards and memorabilia, I had to acquire this executed 1958 trade document when the opportunity became available:

I need fulls from Game 1, 4, and 5 from the 1971 Series. If you have one and are willing to sell please let me know. In the meantime I settled for this Game 3 proof this month.

Very cool! How did you date it? (Is there a date written on the ball?)

Gary- congrats on the Robinson pennant. Very cool.

There's a certain player on the ball that only played in that game then got sent back down to the minors

Guy Morton Jr. I actually was able to get a hold of his daughter and wife. They all confirmed he only went to spring training in Florida with the red sox and then got immediately sent down to the minors after that game. His daughter said her dad (guy morton) told her stories about playing in that game against hank and how he hit a homerun. Really cool. I spent 2 weeks relentlessly doing research and was able to find newspapers on all the games during spring training against the red sox. Also Ben Flowers is on the ball who pitched against Hank that game. Ben also got sent down to the minors and that was the only game he pitched during spring training

Been looking for one of those Jackies but always find after auction ended. Any leads where another one might be?

Flew to Pittsburgh for the weekend to work the Monroeville show for the Clemente Museum. I got my 1969 G105 Gene Alley game used bat signed. Mr. Alley stayed in the same hotel as my daughter and I. He posed with my bat in parking lot prior to the show. He was an absolute gentleman which was certainly no surprise.

Awesome Mike...

You can't even put a price on that type of experience. Love the "Alley Oop" inscription, and the Bat itself is awesome. Really love those Blonde H&Bs with the tapered handle. Looks a lot like the Bat Cesar Geronimo used. Great stuff!

Thanks Mark! It’s always cool when your childhood heroes live up to the expectations of your 8 year old self.

That’s great, Mike. I just looked up Gene Alley….he looks damn good for a guy soon to turn 84.
