I know these pictures are not close-up, but can anyone ID these photos? They are going to auction at a local auction this week.

I was able to get a closer look at these photos. They are of Frederick Hutchinson Pitcher of the Detroit Tigers 1939-1953. Also Al Lopez Catcher/Manager Pirates/Dodgers/Bees/Robins/Indians 1928-1947. Any idea what they might go for?

Hi-
I could be wrong, but seeing the closeups, these appear to be framed baseball magazine pages/covers. I believe they have little value (maybe 10.00 for the pair).

I like the Schlitz sign

thanks guys. It looks like the Al Lopez picture was also used for this card.

As Alan said, if they are indeed framed magazine pages as they appear to be, they might make for neat display pieces but have almost no value in themselves. I once had about 30-40 of these things foisted on me by a consignor (who had some other nice items as well, so I begrudgingly accepted them). She had picked up some cheap frames at Wal-Mart because she thought they "looked nice" that way and might do well in eBay auctions. In almost every case, the shipping cost was more than what the photo itself sold for, and I had to remove most of them from the frames just to keep the shipping cost down.

I'm pretty sure the Post Office made more money off of them than either of us did :p

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I don't think they are worth sitting at an auction for 2-3 hours. I love looking at old pictures, but I'll keep looking for the right ones.
