Mike Hersh -- Sad News

I recieved word earlier today that Mike, son of long-time hobby veterans Jerry and Etta Hersh. and the 1st Beckett Hockey Price Guide Editor passed away last night at age which was way too young. I will post more details when available, but I will miss seeing him at the National each year very much.

He also leaves behind a wife and young son whom he doted on very much

Regards
Rich

Mike Hersh

So sorry to hear about Mike. I have known Jerry and Etta since the old "Willow Grove" shows. Finer people you will never meet. Many in the collecting world don't realize the tremendous amount of work Etta put in to move "The National" in the right direction after some awfully difficult financial times. Jerry is a well known artist who was responsible for some of the artwork in the early Beckett guides. Etta knows her football cards!!! They raised a good young man in Mike. I feel so sorry for their loss.

Mike and I go back a long way. Both from Cherry Hill, NJ but went to seperate high schools. 1 year apart in age.

We played on the same hockey team until our early 30s. Then we got together at the card shows. We last had dinner at the national in Baltimore in 2010.

Mike was a really nice low-key guy. Very easy going and friendly. Crap like this just pisses me off and I really feel for his family.

Mike will surely be missed. I wish I knew what the heck happened here?

RIP Mike.
