B/S/T question

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
I've noticed recently more and more cards that are for sale on eBay being listed in the B/S/T sections for T-cards, '50s-'80s, 1920s-'40s, etc.

I always thought the eBay category was for all eBay listings, no matter what you were selling in the way of cards and/or memorabilia, and the other sections were for cards that people could buy directly from the B/S/T post (as opposed to being redirected to eBay listings).

Thanks for the clarification.

B/S/T question

Posted By: Marty
I do not post a lot on the threads, but I do follow the B/S/T listings, and I have noticed this also.

On a different issue, I would like to see the prices listed to be all inclusive. It is anoying to me to make an offer to accept a listed card at the full asking price and then be told, great, please include $XXX for shipping and handling. That just happened to me recently, where I got a $5.00 S/H that was not listed on a $50.00 purchase.

B/S/T question

Posted By: Matt
Marty - what would be the ideal way to list multiple cards for sale that can be purchased separately? I always thought the best approach was to display the shipping cost separately so it only gets added once for how ever many cards you want to buy, as opposed to including it in each cards price, thereby charging you for shipping many times if you buy multiple cards.

Now, if you're saying the seller didn't list any shipping price at all and then surprised you with it, that's an entirely different story.

B/S/T question

Posted By: Rick McQuillan
Matt,
The way that you list your shipping charges is fine. Everyone knows up front the price of your cards and the costs for shipping.

I always list my cards with the shipping charges included. The problem seems to be when there isn't a reference to shipping, just the prices of the cards. I guess as a buyer, if shipping charges aren't mentioned, then I should ask about shipping before I commit to a card.

Rick

B/S/T question

Posted By: Al Simeone
Getting back to the original question that Rob asked I to feel that the BST section should be about cards or items for sale to the members on the site. Not about items that are for sale on ebay. I have no problem if the item doesnt sell on BST and then comes up moved to ebay, thats fine. Just to let you know anytime an item comes on that states can be found here on an ebay listing I never go there.
Rob I agree with you 100%

B/S/T question

Posted By: Marty
If one card is listed, with a price, most would expect the first to say I'll take it to be the one to get it. If you send an email and say I'll take it if the shipping is acceptible, you are open to another sliding in while you are away from your email, or holding up the seller from taking another offer. I just feel that if the shipping is not stated, it should be inclusive in the price. If there is a list of 10 cards, each with a price, without any discount options, I will make the assumption that the price listed is what the seller wants for each card. If I want to make an offer for a discount, I can. The seller making a couple of bucks on saved shipping is not really a problem if the buyer wants the cards for the stated price before someone else speaks up. I do not think that the sellers should feel required to offer discounts, it is their choice. I have actually had it happen the other way also off of an eBay sale. The buyer offered to send a check for free shipping, otherwise it was PayPal and I would get the fees.

Posted By: leon
From Barry's computer this evening.....

There is a category for ebay auctions on the BST....Everyone should use it that wants to and those that don't shouldn't. The BST is doing very well as far as I can tell....I do hate it when the ebay auctions get posted in the other categories.....best regards
