Help with Mantle issue......
 

Asking for a friend.....team issue? Year? Back has scrapbook paper on it mostly so can't tell if it was blank backed or not. Size is 5x7 inches. Paper stock. Facsimile Auto.

Nice looking piece but for answers I agree the post war section is your best bet.

Looks like the photo that was included with the Mickey Mantle board game. Had one years ago, but no picture

It’s a glossy blank backed premium from the mid-50’s. If it was the Bat-master game that Joe mentions, that was a different photo.

The 7.23.2010 issue of SCD has a brief write up. The same photo is used on two additional premiums - one 5x7 with a different facsimile auto and an 8x10.

I think it was sent by the Yankees in response to fan requests for a photo of Mick or possibly an autograph. I got one on eBay that the person had received from the Yankees and I got it with the mailing envelope.

The basis of the photo is an 8x10 photo that the Yankees issued. I've attached a copy of the photo as issued.

There's also a 5x7 version that is probably a premium for some product. I know nothing about its origin. I've also attached a copy of it. It's blank backed.
