Great Seller Thread, and yes, there are plenty!

This has probably been done before, but, let's go ahead and acknowledge some of the great sellers as well, lest a new member comes onto the board and thinks that only 5% of sellers are trustworthy based upon many recent threads.

To be clear, I love that the board is so active in boldly identifying unscrupulous activity from various hobby participants, but want to offer a place to begin to highlight those who have stood out.

Anyway, I'll start with Lee Behrens of Sterling Sport Auctions, and the previous owner of SSA - Brian Dwyer (now with REA). A few years ago when I came into the hobby for the first time, Lee was one of the first sellers I bought T206 Cubbies from.

SSA/Lee B. are just one of the sellers I'll gladly give two thumbs up to in this thread, but won't hog the computer screen just yet.

I don't post often, but these three have been 1st class and a wealth of knowledge. Bill.

I get feedback on many, if not most, of the problem people on the BST here. I would say you need to be careful, know who you are dealing with and ask for references. That being said almost everyone on there is good to deal with.
If you have ANY idea someone might not be good to deal with, or you just don't know, PM me. I will always respond and about 95% of the time I can actually help. You can always check when they registered, look at all of their posts and threads and get a feel for them. The recent scammers have had only 1 post, or very very few. If someone has been on the board for years and hundreds of posts they are probably ok. Everyone I have dealt with is good. There are a handful of people not allowed on there because of issues. We try to weed out those people that don't do it the right way.

Great deals w/ Quinnsryche, GrayGhost, daves_resale_shop, sylbry, Rob D.

Also, a pending deal with Bpm0014 which I am sure will be great.

Sorry if I have forgotten anyone.

Thanks guys,

Jeff

Great deals with T's please, Gray Ghost, pawpaw, Stefan, and a couple others. My collection would not be nearly the same without the transactions I've had on this forum.

BST Rocks

In alphabetical order by handle name the following folks I have purchased or traded with. All are deemed reliable and are recommended. Another list of recommended buyers could be generated for the benefit of sellers.
In my BST experience, my only issues have been with a couple of "disappearing" buyers. If anyone is missing from my seller list, I apologize in advance. I have made a couple of mistakes over the years.

I have had all positive transactions with many members of this board. Love this community and many are willing to help with back runs/finishing sets.

Thought this was meant to highlite good dealers, not necessarily every good trade...

i like joes vintage and love of the game auctions...

M. MaCrae

Mark MaCrae is and has always been one of the best and most knowledgeable dealers in the business. Plenty of others, but he always pops into my mind when I think of what a vintage dealer should be like.

If this about dealers, then

Joes Vintage, Burbank Sportscards, Yourfavoriteteamsets, and Mickeys Sportscards are all great sellers.

Lgarza99 10-27-2013 12:59 PM

FrankBMD. I'm just starting and he was nice enough to share some thoughts on collecting T206 cards. Fast shipping too!!

maniac_73 10-27-2013 01:43 PM

Have had great transactions with everyone I've dealt with here. Would much rather doing my buying here before I go to ebay!

+1

I had a list at one time of all the board members I had purchased cards from, then decided to stop recording the names after the list got to be 3 pages long.

Here are a few more I can add to Frank's list.

Rob D.
Lee B.
Matt & Turner
Ted Z.
Clayton J.
The Bucklers
Dan M.
Mark M.
Glenn M.
Dave Z.

After a few hundred transactions, I'm forgetting someone.

B&L Auctions needs a shout out too!

I wish that were true. I recently listed a bunch of cards below VCP average, yet almost every single one sold on Ebay instead of here.

Big Ben 10-27-2013 04:10 PM

I love the BST section of this forum! I have also had several great transactions with Joe'e Vintage.

npa589 10-27-2013 05:04 PM

Joe Yanello of JVSC was one I was going to mention as well. I don't buy as frequently from his eBay store, but, when I first came into the hobby - that is where I went with regularity when looking for T205/T206 Cubs.

I'll second Joe's! I'd also add Marc Delpercio and Bill Latzko as a couple guys I've bought cards from and always been happy!

Take Care,
Geno
