Collecting Fortune?

I've been getting a little worn out on my current collecting projects lately, so for the past couple weeks I'd been thinking about starting something new. Then today at lunch at the Chinese Buffet (bad choice for lunch, I know), this pops out of my fortune cookie.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO COLLECT?

No clue, but if you google it, a lot of people have posted about this fortune.

I'd start with a T206 Cobb Lenox back :D

I think that they mean that you should collect Goudeys.

I can only think of one possible explanation.

I happen to own the #1 registry set. He's my all-time favorite player and they're easily my most treasured cards. I wouldn't part with them except for the highest of premiums, but I've never been one to stand between a fellow collector and fate.

Please PM if interested.

Fortune cookie your way to wealth

Being a collector and occasional seller of lower condition cards, I believe it means that now is the time to collect 'good' condition cards.

Ha! I will trade you a doggie bag of leftover lo mein and sesame chicken for that beautiful card of Mr. Good.

Well thank goodness it didn't say "Time to Collect Those NM-MT," because then I'd really have a problem.

'Time to Collect Those Good' has nothing to do with our hobby,

It means 'Time to Collect Those (Who have been) Good-

Big Flood headed your way - you gotta build a boat...a really big boat.

.
Just kidding - those saying are just randomly put together much like a lottery number randomizer - by someone, like me perhaps, with far too much time on his hands.

The first thing that I looked at was that what you are holding is a miscut. This particular fortune has neighbors and possibly was a fortune in the middle of the sheet; though your hand makes it difficult to see that upper left corner to draw any formal conclusions.

After analyzing the miscut; I then noticed the wording.

I believe it means collect good people and neighbors around you. Once you have made considerable progress at this, then try to work on those that seem to be headed down the wrong path and turn them good.

A guy headed down the wrong path in our industry may be the guy misleading people by messing around with graded holders and cards. That would be just one example.

Take care Charlie

Dan, send it in for Grading...although it looks trimmed. Top and right borders are short. ;)
