Thoughts on the BL460 thread

Posted By: Elliot
First on a light hearted note---I can't believe that MW and Pete have found something they agree with.

More importantly, a few points:

1) I don't think it is a good idea to be posting in a public forum personal information about somebody, even if the underlying information is public. The rules for this forum will be that you can post their name and city of residence (which will be useful to people if we are talking to somebody that has a non-identifiable e-Bay name). You can also post that you know how to get in touch with somebody and if they want to send something to that person, you would be happy to forward it on their behalf AND/OR you will ask the other person if you can disclose their peronal information to somebody that has something to discuss with them.
As a result, I will be deleting the personal information that has been disclosed on the board.

2) I don't think bashing is OK, but questioning to the edge of bashing is OK, and bashing is probably Ok for the real miscreants (I think we all know who they are). I know this isn't very precise, but I think we all know what I mean.

3) James, I wish you would be a contributor to this board. I'm sure we all wish that it wouldn't have taken you getting upset over this matter to post additional information on the NASA Wagner card. Since the court case is now over and the information is in the public record, why not post more information on this matter, rather than making one of us (hopefully) having to look it up and post the information. Additionally, I wish you would have posted that you were in the process of suing NASA without providing details that were not a matter of public record. Why not try to recover some of the reputation that you lost on the whole NASA Wagner affair.

4) It's my opinion that regular contributors to this board will always get the benefit of the doubt over non-contributors. My thought is that they are sharing information (and helping educate all of us) not just taking from the board by lurking. I hope this is an incentive for the lurkers to post.

Sorry, for the length of the post. As always, everybody's opinion (both prond con is welcome.

Elliot

Posted By: petecld
HEY!! This could mean the Cubs are gonna win the series this year!!

I do hope it's a sign, and I hope MW will agree, that 2002 will be a kinder, gentler year for us all. Will it be as much fun - no, but kinder and gentler is fine with me.

Elliot, I agree with everything you said. I feel better about dealing with Jerry in the future now that I know how he handled the NASA Wagner situation.
