The Henry Yee Effect

Posted By: runscott
Why do Henry's photos get such high prices? Last night an original George Burke of the Waner brothers went for $158, but a similar one of three Tigers, including Cobb and Crawford, sold a week ago for $10 through another seller. A Burke photo of Dimaggio used for his Playball card only got $68 from Lipset a week ago (drats - I didn't use auctionsniper!), but generic Dimaggio photos get enormous prices in Henry Yee auctions.

This is a good thing if you ever want to sell photos through Henry, but the prices are so astronomical I just don't get it.

The high bidder was the infamous AdamsDad (see other thread) and he obviously didn't pay Lew for the card, as indicated by the negative feedback Lipset left for him.

Rob M.

Posted By: runscott
Thanks for the tip Rob - Adamsdad bid on TONS of Henry's auctions last night, but obviously doesn't plan on winning anything, or at least paying for anything.

I think there are a lot of ebayers out there who need to take their medication on a more steady basis.
