Show your favorite graded card

1 Attachment(s)
I think we can all agree that many times a holder from a third party grading company really enhances the appearance (not to mention increases the value!) of a prewar card. For me, the colors of a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson really pop when contrasted against the black gasket of an SGC holder. I selected a mid-grade example from a previous Sterling auction to illustrate just how much a holder can improve the appearance of a card (this card isn't mine). Please show a card in a holder that makes the hobby more enjoyable for you!!!

I have very few graded cards but this one, by far, is my favorite that, luckily, Harliduck sold me. :)

I like how the black apron makes the card pop.

Because I have a scanner that in general does not like graded cards, I have not scanned many graded cards. And about 99% of my cards are not graded. So here is my favorite scan of a graded card I have scanned, because the scan turned out almost decent.

I like to crop out all but the card. No free grading company advertising.

Brian (and with no back scan, you are also forced to trust me that this is not only a graded card, but also a E92 Dockman)

What a beauty. Just curious about your 2nd collection. I only have one collection but wondering what a 2nd one would be about.

Gotcha. Just out of curiosity did you have to sell or was it just something you wanted to do at the time and regretted it later. I'm always curious at the different paths us collectors are on.

Some members questioned my motive but it was to initially put my daughter through her bachelors and masters at SMU. It also financed her big wedding and some nice investments.
Once I needed to sell a few hundred K I decided to just sell it and start over. It was the right decision at the time.

and another fave graded card...

I could only get it down to 6.
The Ripken in the GEM holder used to be a rare FF version. I tried trading/buying it from a friend for many years. A while back because of age and none of his family caring about cards he decided to sell everything. So even though we had bought/sold/traded hundreds of cards getting this one from him when he decided to sell everything meant a lot to me.

The Beckett slabs are part of grading history. These are 2 of the 12 cards Beckett used to test their slab design before ever grading a card for the public. I bought serial number 007 from Mark Anderson several years ago. I also have serial number 0005 that I bought from Leon a few years ago who bought it from Mark.

The Ted Williams card is from Teds collection that his daughter auctioned off. I have the LOA from her for it someplace. Just cool to own a card of Ted that he actually owned.

The Score cards are a wrong back pair of my all time favorite two players. I purchased these directly from Score back in the day. These are by far my favorite cards by a mile.

Jeff, that is my favorite pre-war card and your copy is an absolute beauty! Sold my copy toward this below, which is my favorite graded card. Hoping to replace my Cobb at the National this year.

There are just 19 signed 1952 Topps Mantles in the PSA pop report. Of those, only this one was signed in his playing days, March 29, 1968 to be precise, and the kicker is the very man who had it signed was the one who pulled it from a pack as a boy!

Wow Matty, along with my signed 1920 Headin Home Ruth, that vintage scripted ‘52 Topps Mantle has to be one of the most historic and significant signed cards in the hobby! Beyond amazing!

Thank you, Joe. I would surely add your signed Lou '25 and yellow Babe alongside your Tex Rickard to a list of the hobby's most significant signed cards!

This one is very cool and interesting, because it is not only the seriously valuable 1973 Topps 'bandage' variation, but I was able to get 'Mr. Tiger' to autograph it shortly before his passing. Except for the other one I own, I haven't seen another one like it (yet?)...

After a 25 year hobby absence, the ‘73 O-Pee-Chee is the card that brought me back in 2018. Went w/ OPC because it was $125 cheaper than the Topps version in the same grade.

Always wanted a Schmidt rookie for as long as I can remember. Schmitty was my fav player as a kid and was lucky to watch him play in-person from 1985-1988.
