Almost July, so I'll start it off with something a little different. Here's a 1924 World Series Washington Senators Team Pamphlet I picked up on ebay recently. It has Kenesaw Landis on the front and a bunch of player and team photos inside, here's the WoJo for your viewing pleasure!

Here's a pick-up of a different sort, baby Alexander was born about six weeks early and should be coming home from the hospital sometime this week.

I know this technically should go on the memorabilia side but wanted to show it here instead this time. I have a few of the tougher woodcuts from more obscure publications but this one is up there and while Daily Graphic woodcuts do come up for sale now and then, I have not seen this particular one. Very excited to add it to my collection!

ullmandds 07-01-2013 09:36 PM

Nice Tinker...coupons...and that woodcut is awesome!!!

Michael, about that Drum, I can't believe it either. :D

I'm guessing from the absence of Seymour that you traded with Jaime. Good. I'm glad it went to a good home. :)

Amazing Conner! Does he have a partner in his future? ;)

Holy Seymour, Batman! Simply incredible. I didn't think more than two of any player/pose existed. Nice pick up.

atx840 07-03-2013 12:00 PM

Excellent Jamie! You're the first that I know of.

Technically there should be 3-4 of each player if the sheets were stacked that high. I know of one yellow/brown with 4 examples....

My theory is only one sheet existed.....the fact that three survived of one player and that they are back together is amazing...now I need to find that third Davis!

oldjudge 07-03-2013 12:01 PM

Jim--yes that is Stockton, CA. They were in the California League in 1889 with Oakland, SF, and Sacramento. They are the only one of the four with no players in the Old Judge set (yet). No, that is not Ewing, although it does look like him.

Congrats Phil!! If my memory hasn't failed me again, I read in another thread that you are using your new pickup as an excuse for not attending the National this year. You might want to rethink this and take Alex to the National, because it's never too early to expose a kid to card collecting! :D

Not being a set collector, a big thrill for me is when I acquire a card, such as this very tough W503, that fills a void in both my type collection and one of my player collections. Thanks again Mark!
Val

Hi Jason, thank you. This provenance of this item is from Frank Jock (Kezar Falls collector and friend of Harry Lord) to Buck Barker to Ray Medeiros and as of this weekend to me. Interesting also is that this card has never been bought/sold just handed down from friend to friend.
