I guess I'll start it again this month. Surprised to have USPS deliver this on a Sunday. Thanks Richard for a smooth transaction.

Our mail service, at least here in Southern Ontario is only Monday to Friday. Nice card, BTW. |
Saturday is normal, Sunday is not.

It used to be that Sunday deliveries around here for Amazon were handled by the USPS, but now Amazon uses their own employees for deliveries. |
Crisp image Leon, nice pickup!

Larry, that's a beautiful Croft's Candy card.
|
Am I the only one that doesn't see the Crofts card?

Picked up this Cycle Wheat T206. Its a very tough back for Wheat.

Pardon the non-Baseball nature of the cards but I've been on a bit of a hockey kick lately (I still think the Hockey Sweet Cap PC's are perhaps the most beautiful cards ever made!)...

This one was on my wish-list for a while, but with a Psa and sgc combined population of 4, I didn't think I would see it for a long while. Thrilled to own it.

Nice one Orlando!!
Here is a scarcely seen hand colored http://luckeycards.com/pcunc1905game.jpg |
Leon- That is an exquisite postcard! Did a little on-line sleuthing to see what I could learn. Was able to access the 1907 Holy Cross yearbook which had some photos and info about the 1905 team.
The Yale game marked the grand opening of Fitton Field. https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...llany2/146.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...llany2/147.jpg Seems Yale won the game 5-4. https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...03.55%20AM.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...llany2/149.jpg In 1905 Holy Cross had a catcher that went by the name of Carrigan. Making the bold assumption that the home team was in white and thus in the field, that would be him behind home plate. https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...llany2/150.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...llany2/212.jpg Rough looking fellow 2nd from left back row. Very cool or what? https://photos.imageevent.com/kawika...llany2/144.jpg |
Congrats Orlando, huge card.

Why I love Net54

It's been awhile since I broke out the scanner, so these pickups go back a couple months, but they all have one thing in common: they were all procured from folks I've met on the board. Which means: no buyer's premium, no crazy shipping rates, no late nights, and no three week delays in shipment. Just great transactions among great dudes. Thanks to Leon, Orlando, Chris, Don, and Wondo.
|
Sam, you just posted N54 porn. congrats man. Great eye!!!
|
Nice scanner!!!

Cutlery Cobb/Wagner and 14 CJ Cobb are jist amazing cards. Congratulations guys on your pick ups. Some great cards already and REA is doesn't end until the 29th.

|
Holy crap Sam, awesome! I'd love to see the back of the Cobb Bat on 4, because that front looks much better than a 4. And I am mucho jealous of the CJ Cobb- let's trade, let's trade!! Anyway, that is an amazing post. Congrats, great stuff, truly

Signed Pre-War Reprints
I'll take every signed reprint of a card from before 1917 that you can find! They may be rarer than the real thing -- created circa 1977 there were so few years left in Rube and Edd's lives to sign many of these. Very happy to find these on ebay - and cheap too!

This is the photo from a T4 Obak cabinet, cut out and removed from the mount. Curious if anyone has a example of Moskiman's signature to compare with this. It would be fun if he wrote this himself.

Thanks Guys!
My Johnson :) was a fairly modest pickup compared to a lot of others shown but it is a nice looking specimen and I am happy. It was from a board member...go figure. The staining is due to the brand, PB....I don't have him in hand yet but here is the back. |
