Brian:

Great pick-ups on the 2 Waner Pre-Rookies, both are first ever cards.

h2oya311 07-18-2014 09:00 PM

Great snag Brian. You got a nice deal on the Waners. I would have given you a run for your money if I were still in the market for a '23 Waner.

Thank you, Phil and Derek. What I also like, because they came from the same owner, is the PSA numbers are sequential.

pencil1974 07-19-2014 10:19 PM

Thanks Steve should be in hand on mid next week. I have a JSA cert coming with it but want to get it slabbed by PSA or SGC so it's a bit more protected from me and my kids. lol

Brian,

Upgrade of 1937 R314 Type 5 Canadian Goudey "Wide Pen" Premium

http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...KEYUPGRADE.JPG

......Scanned using ''Color Photograph'' setting trying to capture the actual original matte finish....they appeared as being somewhat weak and faded even when brand new , especially if compared to their Type 4 ''Creamy'' cousins .

...the upgrade has better everything , especially the registration .

....seller said that ''they'd been kept in a book all these years''..

....I believe that to be true because they look like new ...

...She had eleven and I bought them all.....my precious and brilliant grand-daughters will be attending the local community college for their freshman year instead of Smith and Wellesley and Vassar like they claim I had once promised them....

....very welcome upgrade of Coach O'Brien....he's hard to find ; a lot of kids didn't keep cards that weren't of actual current ballplayers.

.......Bob Seeds went on to play for the Yankees I think...

......the WidowGarcia has informed me that she can not see hardly any difference at all between my original card and the sharp bright crisp unstained new upgrade ;.....I'll keep her anyway.

Great Lummis Peanut Butter pickup. I am also a Phillies fan, so I search the obscure Philies sets on eBay once in a while. I remember seeing the "Puddinhead" Jones card in the sold listings and thinking, "Wow, there was actually a Lummis Peanut Butter card at auction on here." :)

I have a couple of Emblem Series (Fraternal order) silks and Becket didn't grade the one I sent them. Glad to know there's a company that does. Nice pic.

I got this beauty in today. First Southern Leaguer as well as my first Old Mill back.

I do believe I'm starting to understand the attraction of collecting other backs.
Edit: I would be remiss if I did not thank Mike DeNero for this splendid card.
