Congrats Jesse! I've been collecting so long I forget how special and fun it really is when you acquire a 100 year card of one of the greatest baseballers ever. Especially the first one. Congrats again. -peter

Thanks, I have a few cards from this era but this was my first big name HOFer. I was pretty excited to get it. I think it's amazing that someone pulled it out of a pack of cigarettes over 100 years ago and it's still survived this long.

These two arrived today, made a cold snowy day warmer. Sorry they're a bit blurry, I haven't figured out how to get clear scans of SGC slabbed cards with my scanner.

Thanks to everyone who purchased from me this past month for allowing me to secure the funds for my first Wagner! Highest graded of the 14 slabbed by PSA

Awesome Wagner! That pose has really grown on me over the years. Great card. Congrats.

Fatima T222 Catcher Pose Subset completed

4 Attachment(s)
Finally finished a small subset project. Thanks to Andy N. for this Jack Lapp T222 Fatima card.

I now have the 4 "catching pose" cards in the set: Archer, Lapp, McLean, and Schang. All 4 present well!

Patrick

ValKehl 02-06-2015 06:14 PM

Patrick, what about John Henry, the Washington Senators catcher? I believe he is one of the toughest T222 short prints to obtain. Here's the link to the OC web site where you can see a pic of this card: http://www.oldcardboard.com/t/t222/t222gal.asp
Val

Vintagecatcher 02-06-2015 06:40 PM

John Henry also spent time at first base

Hi Val,

John Henry split time between catching and 1st base. His T222 looks like he has a smaller 1st basemen's mitt on to me.

Patrick

ValKehl 02-06-2015 07:53 PM

Patrick, I wasn't aware that Henry ever played 1st base. But, I just now checked baseball-reference.com, and I see that he played both positions during the first 2 years (1910 & 1911) of his MLB career, and catcher only during his last 7 years (including 1914, the year the T222s were issued). Re Henry's T222 card, I think he is holding a catcher's mitt, but have no expertise re vintage mitts. BTW, nice accomplishment!!

I didn't know this Orange Borders card even existed until I saw his listing and I was told that there aren't any graded, so it was probably a one shot deal to acquire this card and Brian went above and beyond to help me get it

I'm thrilled to help a fellow Net 54'er along with his collection and am happy to see the card go to a good home. A pleasure working with you and hope you enjoy it!!

I spend most of my time in the post war side, except when it comes to Tigers.

I've been wanting a Hooks Dauss card for a long time.
