Posted By: Jay
Just a quick post to inform Old Judge collectors that since the issuance of our book five new Old Judge poses have been found. This brings the number of known poses to 2496. It is my belief that, in the first year following the book's issuance, at least twenty-five new poses will be found. This should not be surprising. Minor differences that were not apparent when reading a pose description become obvious when looking at pose images.

The players for whom the new images were found are Hart, Kilroy, Manning, John Reilly and Tyng.

I would encourage collectors to compare their cards to the book's pose images and, when finding new poses, please send me a scan so we can update the listings (oldjudge@gmail.com). I will periodically provide updates of the new poses found.

Thanks--Jay

Posted By: Scott B.
Are those Old Judge pose images somewhere on the web? Or we have to buy the book and compare? I can't spend $125 for a book in this kind of economy right now.

Posted By: Jay
Scott--The images are not on the web, only in the book. Perhaps you can borrow a copy from a friend.

Posted By: Jay
Three more new poses uncovered. I still think that by yearend we will have uncovered 25 new poses. Check those images in the Old Judge book against the cards you have--new poses are not that scarce at this point.

Jay, any updates?

Is there a way to receive the images of the new poses?

Jimmy- although I don't have a 66 Beadle, Orem states that 91 clubs were represented at the ninth convention in December, 1865. He lists the appointed officers, but not the clubs. I guess you need that list?

Sorry Jay for the digression.

Barry, thanks for noticing the request.

I do have the club delegates list from the original NY Clipper account of the convention, but would like to confirm some names since my copy is not of good quality.

Jimmy--Off the top of my head (I don't have my list with me) we have found about 15 new poses. We have talked about putting out a pamphlet update at the end of the year with these images and maybe a few brief discussions of topics that we think might be of interest. As plans are solidified, one of us will post the info on the board.
Thanks for your interest!
