It was possibly "buried" due to the spelling of Gehrig.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&it em=280323977667

The Brooklyn "Bar and Grill" fakes that have come up on the board before suffer the same problem, obviously computer fonts. It still baffles me why the fakers are so bad with fonts, it really wouldn't be that hard to do it right.

David

Posted By: leon
This is one of a series of bad fantasy pieces that have hit ebay in the last year or so. There are other ones that have Ruth only, with a tavern advertisement on the back, as well as many others. I got a call on one of these this week and immediately knew what it was. They aren't reprints, imo, as there were never any real cards like them. They are fantasy pieces. regards

Posted By: joe brennan
I saw one of these fantasy pieces on e-bay last month for a bar and grill. The funniest thing about the piece was the bar was not established till 3 years after the piece was dated. Note to scammers, do a little research before you try to scam someone.

In Rememberance of James W. Brennan Sr. 1924-1982. Dad, thanks for everything you did for me.

Posted By: Richie
I saw the bar and grill card on ebay. 3 things i think of it. I dont think they used the words "bar and grill" back then. Also there was Prohibition during the years of the card was dated. Also why would Brooklyn store advertise for Babe Ruth NY Yankee if Brooklyn had there own team.
