Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
Everyone is talking about Saint Mary's but I think San Diego State (& the Mountain West with UNLV also in the mix) are the ones that really got hosed. Only 4 non-BCS at larges is a little silly.
-Rhett

Posted By: Rhys
How does a top 25 RPI team with a 30-4 record and wins over other top teams this year get an 11 sead in their bracket? Oh well, at least I get to see Utah State here in Boise.

Rhys

Posted By: Doug
I don't know how the Big East got three #1 seeds and I'm biased being in a Big East city (Cincy). I would have given a #1 to Memphis over Connecticut...

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
Doug, I think it was a close call...but maybe next year Memphis will schedule a tough out of conference schedule considering they play nobody the entire year otherwise.

Posted By: Doug
I don't argue that point, but people said that last year and they made the finals and should have won if they didn't blow a 7 point lead (if I recall correctly) in the last few minutes.

Posted By: Doug
I'd say they have a pretty good shot at making the final four this year too, but my guess is North Carolina cuts down the nets in the end.

Posted By: Tom Boblitt
2-2 against Big East competition. That hurt them some. As a life-long Louisville resident and fan, I'm proud of the Cards getting their first #1 seed since 1983. Given they lost at ND by about 30, I'm surprised they got the overall #1. They were 19-2 against Big East competition though counting the tourney. Should be fun. I'm not sure that playing Ohio State in Dayton was a real benefit for the Cards though.

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
Doug, I agree with you re NC but Lawson's toe is a big if. Had UConn not had the injury issues I'd say they'd be just as likely to win it all. In fact I'm sure Carolina will win it all, 100% sure!

Posted By: Michael Steele
Beware Memphis if they play Missouri in the sweet 16. Of course I am bias being an MU grad. Would be a good game.

Living near Minneapolis was hoping for Missouri in the Midwest regional in Minneapolis but instead the hated Kansas is in Minneapolis. Darn it but I am going to go and root against them (almost as much fun)

Missouri Valley, Metro, Conference USA, now the Big East...

Scott
Posted By: Dustan Hedlin
I also think Memphis deserved a #1 seed, but I don't think it'll really matter in the end. I think it'll be Memphis and Oklahoma in the final....just throwing that out there.

Posted By: David Goff
Being born and raised in Louisville, I am happy for them. Although I am die hard Kentucky fan so I can't pull for them too much. It would be great for the city if they would win. It just really makes me sad that Kentucky is not playing and Louisville is the overall #1 seed...oh well.
