Let's see how well I can express it in words. <br><br>Let's have a contest within this thread, whereby we post a card (preferrably show it if you have it), and the list of possible reasons it can be collected (set, team set, HOFer, ROY, 40/40 member, etc), thus making it significant. The card with the largest list of possible reasons to collect the card (or include it in a collection), wins.<br><br>The winner will have, in theory, just identified what should be the most popular card in the hobby! If nothing else, it will expand your perspectives about your cards.<br><br>I'll get started with this example.<br><br>Reasons to collect (8):<br>T206 Set<br>T206 White Sox<br>1919 Black Sox member<br>blacklisted MLB player<br>player collection<br>tobacco White Sox collection<br>T206 Sweater-wearer subset<br>batting pose<br><br><br><img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1235236910.JPG" alt="[linked image]">

I'm sure there are more categories I could include, but this is off the top of my head.<br><br>T206 type<br>T206 set<br>T206 Detroiters<br>T206 portraits<br>HOF (along with T206 HOF as an offshoot)<br>Inaugural HOF players<br>Detroit players<br>Player-managers<br>League MVP's<br>Triple-crown winners<br>Career leaders (batting avg)<br>World Series players (not winners though)<br><br>Annnd of course, lest we forget:<br>SGC graded cards or<br>Graded cards. <br><img src="/images/happy.gif" height="14" width="14" alt="happy.gif"> How could I resist?<br><br>Several of the above could also be expressed as T206 subsets (T206 MVP's, etc)<br><br>Cool thread.
