Posted By: James Gallo
I won the hammered BS Gandil. Fits two holes a black sox and my set hole. I was happy it didn't go higher, but man it is beat. Well until a nicer one shows up I will deal.

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: Jim Manos
I thought they went very inexpensive for Black Sox cards? I bid on many items but that is all I won.

Posted By: Wesley
Hi Brian, Long time no chat. I think you are right, provided that the winner got his bid in on time. Who knows. Clean Sweeps has some very interesting rules where the buyer fees vary depending on when the bid is placed:

"We have come up with what we hope is a partial solution to the un-ending auction problem. In order to discourage late bidding/sniping at extreme hours and to encourage bidding when everyone is (hopefully) awake, bids placed after 1:30 AM EST are subject to an additional buyers premium of 5%; bids placed after 2:30 AM EST are subject to an additional buyers premium of 10%. PLEASE NOTE THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO MAXIMUM BIDS LEFT UP UNTIL 1:29 AM."

I not sure if I like it or not. Nonetheless, I applaud Steve Verkman's willingness and creativity in trying to tackle the competing demands of ending auctions at reasonable times and not discouraging bidders to the detriment of the consignors.
