I was at the game with my son, who commandeered a piece of turf in the aftermath, which we took home and planted in the front lawn. (My son did not lift the turf from the field........it fell from a piece of sod that someone else had lifted.)

The inauguration of President Obama ranks as #3,247,974. This is right behind #3,247,973, which occurred on July 13, 1971, in a game in which Horace Clarke hit a Texas Legue single to left field. The Yankees were in 7th place, and the game had no effect on the standings. #3,247,975 occurred on July 14, 1971, when the game was rained out.
