I don't have too much information on it. I was hoping someone in this forum might have some more info. The only thing that I know, is that the photo is from the 1890's. There is also an ad behind the players that is partially visible which is from Portland Pros Sports Equipment. <br><br>Any opinions would be appreciated.<br><br>Have a Happy Holiday!

When those deaths were averaged in, the average life expectancy naturally dropped. So it wasn't that adults necessarily died younger then, it was factoring in the infant mortality rate that made the average life expectancy figure low.

This would include lack of vaccination, poor understanding of healthy living, lack of antibiotics(as mentioned), lack of treatment for life threatening illness(i.e. chemo for cancer), LACK OF ANTISEPTIC TECHNIQUE, insufficient surgical standard, etc. The list is long. <br>Sorry to go on, something I deal with daily. <br>Having said that, cool picture.
