Last December I began work on a book about
the Philadelphia Caramel Company. It's been a long
and arduous task, which is coming close to a conclusion.
At this point I don't want to take on any more projects
until I get this one done. Afterwhich, I think I'll
slowly get back into enjoying the hobby once again!

ErikV
Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
I plan to keep doing what I most enjoy:

Track down living MLB alumni who have gone "MIA", and locate the whereabouts and family of deceased major leaguers through research. It sometimes gets exhausting, but I have never known a more pleasant feeling than finding the final piece of the puzzle that closes a case!

Posted By: Scott T
My low grade (and budget) T206 set is currently at 512. I think I can realistically add three or four more cards without breaking the bank. I am not jealous of other board members, nor do I envy their collections (well, maybe I do a little), but I do like it when they upgrade their collections. The BST part of this board has been a a great resource over the past year!

Research-wise, I will continue working on my Amos Rusie project.

Non-vintage projects:
1) Nate Colbert odd ball cards as they become available.
2) Continue work on Top 30 ABA Player Card/Game Used/Autographs

Scott
Posted By: Dustan Hedlin
My major goal for 2009 will be to get to 100 different T206's. I currently have 56, so it is reachable. I want to add the Cobb Bat Off in a PSA 3 before I get to 100, which will give me 3 of the 4 Cobbs in the set. I also want to finish my raw 1933 Goudey Cubs team set, which I just started a few weeks ago. I have 14 more of those to get. Anything after this depends on my budget and finances.

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
Goals for 2009...

#1--Get closer to finishing the E254 set - down to an even 55 for the set right now. Not all are tough ones either so I should be able to make a little headway this year. Also, add as many E270 Tin Tops as I can (and to a lesser extent the E270 Red Borders)

#2--Add to my ever growing Zeenut and E121-like collections. Would like to pick up a few more pre-1924 Zeenut HOFers/Stars. If Fred is sick of his Claxton, I could probably find a new home for it.

#3--Complete my Roy Castleton collection-need only the D311 PCBiscuit and the Western Playground (& an Obak Cabinet if one is ever discovered). The D311 is doable while the Western Playground probably isn't.

-Rhett

Every time I see a card that is really neat I seem to want it. I might try downsizing the collection a little as I tried to this year....but what went out of one part went back into another part.....So my downsizing was only partially successful....

Posted By: William Cohon
I am always in the hunt for Jewish players, especially the elusive n172's. I have Nash, but need Roseman and Stearns. I plan to keep chipping away at my modest t205 set (currently half done, with all HOFers accounted for). And I like to add to my "funny card" subset - i.e., players photographed with their eyes closed or tongue out, etc.

I'll try to maintain a balance between focus and inspiration. I like to have a sense of purpose, and I like a bit of spontaneity.

I'd like to attend National, but my tennis tournaments conflict. Someday, it will work out. Until then, I'll make do with the BST, the WSSCA Show, and Ebay.

Happy Holidays, everyone. And Happy collecting, too.
