Also funny how it was only a one day auction and listed only a few days before Christmas.<br><br><br><br>That is enough time for people to see the card and bid on it but not enough time for people questioning its authenticity to report it and for eBay to take it down.<br><br><br><br>David

The seller seems to be a consignment shop and starts everything at $9.99 and most of their other auctions are 1 day as well. Any chance it is real and the winner joe725 got real lucky?

I mean, this was in the proper category and had "Babe Ruth", "Rookie" and "Baltimore" all in the title. So it was not like this was something obscure hidden in the wrong category without much information given for it...<br><br>David

It was about the same size as the one sold in REA and the seller told me the card came with a 30 day money back guarantee, which is the policy for every item they sell. The seller also told me the person who actually owned the card refused to get the card authenticated and that the stamp on the back appeared printed and not actually stamped. All this led me to believe the card is a fake. However, with the 30 day return that is plenty of time to find out for sure and return it. Really the buyer didn't take a huge risk, he'll just have to pay for grading fees and shipping. If the item is real he wins the lottery. <br><br>That said, there are some things I don't understand about the card. How did this person create it? There has only been 1 and it was unknown until it sold last year. Also, that card had the corners clipped out. Any photoshop guru's here? Is the foreground of the card artificially created? If not, it just might be the real thing.

The card has the exact same appearance as many of the fake goudey and bread cards that are coming off craig's list. To me it looks very little like the REA item in photo quality as well as color, registration, and even the stock looks different. I wouldnt have bought it for $20 even with a full money back gaurantee, you will still be out the grading and shipping money and like I said In my opinion 100% fake. <br><br>edited to add: FWIW item has now been removed from searches.

If a guy is willing to spend $50,000 on one then why not $400 on another? <br><br>This would seem like a heck of a way to dollar cost average your purchsases and give yourself a much better shot at turning a profit if and when you decided to sell one or both of them.

Why send it to a grading service that for that??
