Posted By: Steve Murray
Jason's post of his T210 on the most recent pickup thread prompted me to think of cards with poses that are truly strange. Here's my "Most Odd". Let's see yours.

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
--Any card picturing Hughie Jennings doing that dance is bound to be odd.

--'51 Bowman Paul Richards with the giraffe neck.

--'63 Topps Tex Clevenger where he's picking his fingernails.

--'63 Topps Choo Choo Coleman. His facial expression cracks me up.

--'70 Topps Jim Fregosi where he is picking up a ground ball that looks more like a pickup truck.

--'91 Fleer Kevin Mitchell. It looks like he's missing half his leg.

Sorry for the post-war, but funny is funny.

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
Gedeon was banned for life, and is a nearly-impossible signature to locate. The one in my collection is the only one I have encountered. He's just not out there.

Posted By: Fred C
The funny part of the Billy Martin card is that he probably did it intentionally to see if he could get away with it.

Posted By: Ben
Actually, Billy Martin not only did it on purpose, he did it to get back at Topps. The story is that the Topps photographer had been bothering Martin at practice all day and when it came time for his pictures, he simply extended his middle finger down the bat he was leaning on to let Topps know how he felt.

Not pre-war, but one of my favorite cards of all time.

Cohen

I've had the pleasure of a couple of conversations with Mr. Robinson, a most affable gentleman. I asked him once if he ever got ribbed about this card. He replied, "yes, many times," and explained that the shot was taken by a photographer who put the camera right in his face just as he had concluded some wind sprints while wearing a sweat suit. I had never really noticed the collar of the sweat suit until after he had related this story.
