Posted By: Bob Donaldson
I'd like to add a Wagner, from his playing days, to my collection. Other than National Game or Tom Barker are there any cards from his playing days that are somewhat (<$500) afforable in G/VGish?<br>
thanks

Bob

Posted By: Miguel Danielson
The E91-C is pretty affordable. It's a little higher than your price range, but it's probably the only candy/tobacco Wagner that is possible for under $1K in decent condition.

Full disclosure: I have one of these for sale on eBay.

Posted By: Miguel Danielson
Bobby,

If I had not disclosed that I had the card for sale, then it could have been construed as talking up the card with a hidden, ulterior motive for referencing that particular card. By disclosing my "conflict of interest," I was trying to give all the relevant information to the public. This, indeed, is what the purpose of "full disclosure" is.

I'm not sure why the name-calling attack was necessary, but to each is own.

Miguel

Posted By: Mark
I see no maliciousness in the full disclosure. If Miguel's card on ebay helps the original poster to fill a void, that's great. If not... no harm done IMO.

Back to the topic... I would go for the Colgans Chip Wagner. A classic Wagner image on a semi-affordable card.

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
While not for sale this E254 Wagner only ran me in the neighborhood of $300, it is pretty presentable, and it actually pictures Wagner (not Joe Tinker (E91C)).

Posted By: davidcycleback
For the record, there's nothing wrong or errant with recommending a card and saying you have one for sale. From a practical perspective, if the original poster liked the recommendation and wished to buy one, he would need to locate a seller. Hiding a current sale wouldn't help the collector, or anyone else as far as I can see. If a collector doesn't think much of the recommendation, he's free to dismiss and move on to other recommendations.

Posted By: Bobby Binder
I'm mean, okay thought the rules here on the front page is to not post any of your own auctions. And to only post an auction after it has ended. Yes he did not start the thread I agree but to say you have a card on eBay for sale is a violation of this rule. He very easily could of emailed the poster saying he has one for sale. But instead he choose not to and to post it on the board so everyone will know. There has been countless number of times I could suggest to posters to use my site but I never do.
