Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Mastro lot #1324 is auctioned on Thursday, December 18, 2008.

The lot has 27 different SGC graded T210s.

I am after the Whitaker series 6 card, and don't look forward to buying all 27 to get one card. So I need a partner or two... I'll split it halves, thirds, or any way anyone wants, as long as I get Whitaker.

Email fwakefield1@comcast.net

Thanks for looking.

In the catalog, Mastro sagiciously listed the cards by grade, 60 through 20. I've listed them below by series, then alphabetically.

Series 1
Pelky sgc40

Series 2
Archer sgc30
Brown sgc40
Bussey sgc40
Clunk sgc30
Doyle sgc20

Series 3
Corkill sgc40

Series 4
Wills sgc20

Series 5
Dobard sgc50
Rickard sgc30
Wehrell sgc40

Series 6
Kuhlman sgc30
Van Landinham Shelbyville sgc20
Whitaker sgc40

Series 7
Gates sgc30
Griffin sgc50
Ham sgc20
Hyames sgc40
Reeves sgc30

Series 8
Bayless sgc60
Erloff sgc20
Keupper sgc30
McCreery sgc40
Pepe sgc40
Pratt sgc30
Seitz sgc40
Smith sgc40
Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Rob, I'll photoshop a Puckett card for you, if you like. I'll even scan an 87 WS ticket stub from a game when Kirby was crunching the ball, and work that in there, too.

I didn't say he wasn't a good ballplayer. I said he was very good half a dozen years, good half a dozen more... just not my idea of HOF.

Posted By: Todd Schultz
it's all good on Puckett. I'm just sparrin a little with Frank on that one, and my bark might be abit bigger than my bite. I see Frank as one of the good guys--he sold me a cool t210 on the BST awhile back that I still enjoy alot:

Frank, good luck on your quest. I don't really chase the set--I'm looking for an EX graded card of one from each series for type, but times is tough down here these days. BTW, you said you might photoshop a '87 World Series ticket stub--where you were seated at the Dome?

Posted By: leon
If I am not mistaking I am responsible for the operations of the entombing of your T210. Even our illustrious Mr.Wakefield knows a card slabbed by a reputable company usually brings more than a nude one. I worked with him some time ago to get a few nice ones graded...As I recall I was pretty close to guessing the grades before they were done... Nice card......

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Leon, you're correct, that Lawrence card is one of those I sent you to forward on to SGC. I recall that you correctly sussed out the grade each of the cards would get. I was ok with those grades, for a while. Then, with surprise, I later see other T210s with similar grades but with much more border chipping. Either mine were undergraded, or SGC got less picky about grading them later on.

Todd, I'm glad that card has an appreciative home!!

Aside from the overwhelming number of different Old Mill red border cards, as well as the obscurity of many of the subjects, the fragility of the cards is an impediment to the series being broadly collected.

I love 'em!

I have 2 partners for some of the cards, still need partners for these:

Series 1
Pelky sgc40

Series 2
Archer sgc30
Brown sgc40
Bussey sgc40
Clunk sgc30
Doyle sgc20

Series 3
Corkill sgc40

Series 5
Dobard sgc50
Rickard sgc30
Wehrell sgc40

Series 7
Gates sgc30
Griffin sgc50
Reeves sgc30

Series 8
Bayless sgc60
McCreery sgc40
Pratt sgc30
Seitz sgc40
Smith sgc40
