Posted By: leon
I am to the point of really pissing off the Net54 guys as far as me letting them know how I feel about our scan posting issues. I am having the same issues....but only intermittently... I know they are working on it. I know it can't be fixed fast enough as it is causing some amount of angst for many members. I apologize for the issues. I just now posted about 10-12 images for a forum member on the BST pages. I used my business yahoo account to host them then just popped in the address they are at. It's not a perfect system but it's a work around for the moment. I am not saying I can handle all of our needs myself but if you have something you really really want posted you can send it to me and I will do it for you....as time permits. I am usually fairly quick. I am also aware of the anonymous name issue that is still going on. Ya'll might see a few more posts being edited than normal as I am populating some information when it gets left out.....I am told the reason this all started is that there was some serious security issue within Net54 and it had to be fixed. One more thing to note. No one but NO ONE...including me and the other moderators can edit a post without our login being in the post as editing it. So if anyone thinks a post was edited you can always tell. Thanks again for ya'lls patience and my apologies for the issues....best regards

Posted By: Matt
Leon - thanks for being on top of the issue.
I'm sure they are aware of it, but since I don't recall it being mentioned here, the software currently inserts an extra line break every time you edit a post - after 2 or 3 edits it makes the post very difficult to read.

Posted By: Anthony S.
For what it's worth, Photobucket has worked fine for me through these recent technical issues. Not sure if that's just luck of the draw, but it's a free service, so it might be worth trying, if other services have encountered difficulties.

edited to add: though I, too, have experienced the same added line issue Matt mentioned. Just takes a little more time during editing to remove the extra lines

Posted By: leon
I am thinking that this other issue (line breaks) could be related to the ones they are working on. Lets let them get those fixed and then if anyone, yourself included, is still having some problems we can address them. I think there is a chance that when they fix one the others might get fixed too...at least I hope so.....take care

Posted By: leon
The posting issues are definitely intermittent and it's hard to say what is causing them. No doubt the less you do with Net54 hosting (mainly the temporary scan folder) the better. While I couldn't post Dan's scans internally on the Net54 server, even though they showed in my temp folder, I uploaded them to my yahoo account and they worked fine....

Posted By: Matt
If anyone is looking for an easy workaround (that won't bother leon) you can use http://www.imageshack.us

You don't need to sign up or create an account - just point to your image on your hard drive, and it uploads and creates the needed forum html to post it correctly.

Posted By: leon
Chris, from Net54, emailed me and is personally looking into our issue as of this evening. He asked about having members email him directly with what is happening. I let him know that since it is happening to me, currently, I am not sure we need to involve others yet. If they fix my issue, my guess is that they fix everyone's. If it doesn't then we go from there....thanks again for everyone's patience.....regards

Posted By: Matt
The issue with the extra line return being added on editing is still around.
