Posted By: Ed McCollum
While the US economy is certainly not doing the best right now, and we all have to adjust to life wihin it, I still look at my life, and see how much I have to be thankful for this season.

Thanks to a horrible hail storm in June, my house needed a new roof. Thanks to insurance, the new roof was put on last week, and my family and I have a warm, safe place to stay on the cold nights this winter.

My wife found a new job this year, one she enjoys and enjoys the company of those she works with. She's happy, we're all happy.

Our son did really, really well on his ACT in October, and that means college the next four (or five, or six) years won't be quite the burden we had anticipated.

I have family that we will see for the first time in almost a year this weekend, and we all have places to call home, and jobs to help us pay our bills.

We have the freedom to vote for leadership of our country, and the comfort of knowing no matter how we voted, our freedoms are safe.

I have friends.

I hope you all have many things to be thankful for this holiday season. Safe travel to those on the move this long weekend, and best wishes to all.

Ed

Luckily, I receive a wakeup call from our boy in W Africa, from time to time.
Yep, on our worst days, we're living like the Gatsby's. Just wish I wasn't pulling a 24 tomorrow to share it with all the kids.

Happy Turkey Day Mr. McCollum

If April showers bring May flowers... What do May flowers bring?
