Posted By: Paul
The cards have a completely different design than the Sports Co. cards that were actually issued. And there is a much greater emphasis on non-baseball cards. It looks like a very significant and interesting find.

Posted By: Tom Boblitt
to me like many of their other items. But possession is 9/10 of the law, huh? I find it hard to believe it'd sell for more than 7-10K in a major auction.

Posted By: David M
Even though they identify the fourth card from the left on the top row as Ed "Strangler" Lewis, I think it's really Ed Asner! How old is that guy?

Posted By: Matt
From the September '74 TTS:
"John Parks reports picking up a heretofore unknown issue a few months ago. He and another collector purchased them from a local antique dealer whose daughter lives in San Francisco. She found them at a garage sale and gave them to her dad. Originally in a single sheet of about 400, he cut them into single cards. They depict champions in many different areas with about 70-80 on baseball and 20-30 on football. The rest are boxing, track, auto racing, chess, etc. The only identification is on the back: Sports Co. of America S.F. They were copyrighted in 1926 and come in both blank back and info back varieties."
