Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
This is a funny thread. I met my future wife when I was 29; a few months later she threw me a surprise 30th birthday party (in which I was truly surprised -- and almost didn't show up as I was on trial at the time). Amongst the presents she gave me was an autographed Jim Brown helmet which is still one of my favorite pieces. A few months later we were engaged.

Posted By: Vincent
No need to elaborate.

My future Mrs. and I first met in the back of a police squad car many years ago. But in our rowdy youth, we went out with a group of mutual friends who chose the wrong house inwhich to toilet paper the trees (after an emotional, hard-fought high school football game). Unbeknown to us, that same house was visited the night before by other rowdy youths with a similar idea. Needless to say, our timing was less than ideal. On the bright side, I couldn't have picked a better partner in crime (or partner for life). If only O.J. could have been so lucky.

Posted By: Scott S
Congrats on the Mantle card; seems like a great girl!!

Back in September 2003, I was on my second date with my future wife at a Red Sox game. (She said she liked baseball on our first date, but I didn't know to what extent at this point.) When Bill Mueller came up to bat, she started cheering loudly for him.

Pam: C'mon Bill, you're my favorite player, get a hit!
Naive me: Why do you like him so much, do you think he's hot?
Pam: No, because he's hitting .328 right now with 42 doubles this year, that's why.

I'm surprised I didn't drop to a knee on the spot....
Their header on the page says "August" but it was the one ended 10/1.
Posted By: brock
Ok
This is what i think he is trying to say. His girlfriend bought him a mickey mantle signed baseball card. He must not of had a camera to take a photo so he took the photo from Mile High Auction because it looks alot like his card. I believe this is what has happened but im not 100% sure.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
There is a way to make your photobucket private and people can not take your scans that way.

speaking of photobucket does anyone know who JimR541 is on Photobucket? They have a Nebraska Indian cabinet I'd like to get a hold of...I see one of my cabinets is also pictured in his album so I'm wondering if it's Jimmy Liederman (that's who I bought it from). Unfortunately there's no way to contact people through photobucket.

Posted By: doug goodman
Once upon a time...

My girlfriend lived in Los Angeles and was moving about 450 miles to northern California. She was planning to drive her Honda CRX hatchback with her belongings and her cat. We figured out that I would fit in the passenger seat, but the cat would have to be on the floor in front of me. At that point, we had been on 4 dates.

I suggested that if we drove via Texas I would be able to see a Rangers game in Arlington Stadium before they moved to a new park, so in August of 1993 in 100+ temperatures we drove an extra 2800 miles, with the cat, and we added major league stadium #26 to my list (my regular season ML list now stands at 46). We were still in Arizona when Nolan Ryan beat up Robin Ventura.

We've now been married for nearly 14 years, so it was a pretty nice drive. I'm not sure that the cat agreed, but she made it until just a couple of months ago, and she never seemed to hold a grudge.

Doug
