Posted By: ErikV

Not sure what the big secret is about Aldon Candy. Here's a little bit about the company.

They were based out of Portland, Oregon circa 1902-1915ish and had a three story warehouse on Gilsan Street between 10th and 12th streets.

The companies' logo was "The Perfection in Confection." They were quite popular in Oregon, but had vendors in Washington state and Alaska.

J. Walrath was the company manager from 1905-1915. Assistant manager J.H.Walker took over in 1915 when Walrath retired.

Hope this helps EVERYONE........

Posted By: robert a
I love this kind of stuff.

Anyone care to guess at why the Aldon Candy stamp is there?

Perhaps Pacific Coast Biscuit sent these "big biscuit" cards to several different candy companies up and down the west coast and Aldon chose to stamp their supply to get a little advertising in?

Rob

Recently a few Aldon overstamp cards became available and I was able to land one. As a double stroke of luck I also collect Ham Patterson cards and was able to pick up a Ham with the Aldon overstamp, sort of like lightening striking twice in the same place. Anyone else out there pick up one of these recently...or any other D310 overstamps?

congrats Mark. I saw that small group come out recently. I am glad SGC marked this one stamped as it's an 80 and in an 80 holder. If it were an MK it would be a 20 :).
