Can you imagine Players today participating in such an event?<br /><br />Even better is the footage that follows... 1929 World Series at Wrigley Field (Game 1). At the 3:19 mark, Charlie Root is shown pitching to Max Bishop. <br /><br />Howard Ehmke set a record for strikeouts in this game, which stood for decades. Check out the awesome images... Ehmke was a submariner (rare back then?) who was very effective. Some other great images of Hack Wilson, Connie Mack, etc.<br /><br />Some high quality footage, considering its age.
