Posted By: leon
Yes, my fine feathered friends this is what we have all (well a lot of us) have been waiting for. I just spoke with the folks at the Embassy Suites and everything is fine for our Dinner. It will be at the Embassy Suites O'Hare Rosemont Hotel, which is across the street from the convention. It will happen on Thursday, July 31st, 2008, from 6pm until 12am. All board members THAT RSVP are welcome. I have to have rsvp's as that is how I will tell their catering how many to make food for(and pay for). The whole thing will be free to all attendees. Children, friends, and significant others are welcome but I need to have rsvp's for them too. If you think you can make it but are not sure then you can rsvp as a "maybe" because if you don't rsvp at all you probably won't be able to get in. I will need folks first and last names please. If you don't want to post in this thread you can email me at leonl@flash.net, as I will be keeping a spreadsheet of rsvp's....I will have hand written name tags just like last year and in order to get drink tickets you need to have one on....it's not a big deal but does help folks recognize each other. Dinner will be buffet style, served around 7:45, and will be a Pasta Bar or Stir fry station and accompaniments. When we took a poll previously the Pasta Bar (with chicken, shrimp and lots of veggies) was the most popular by 2 to 1 over the Stir Fry station (teriyaki beef, chicken shrimp, veggies). When you rsvp if you would be so kind as to say whether you would like the Pasta bar or stir fry station it will help in the preparation. There will also be several hors d'oeuvres. I look forward to seeing everyone there....best regards

edited a word of gramma

Posted By: whitehse
Leon,

The national is within 30 minutes of where I work and I would love to attend. I have never attended before and I am looking forward to this one. I am considering bringing my 21 year old son if that is ok. Pasta is my choice and I am requesting to sit at the same table as Bruce Dorskin and the rest of his associates. Oh, and I am brave enough to have Jim C tossed into the table mix. At least that would make for a interesting experience!!

Thank you so much for this opprotunity to meet all these guys I have been reading over the last 4 years!!

Edited to say I would love to meet zernial and the rest of the gus's...but i would also like to meet all of the guys (and gals) from the board as well. (geez Jodi... you are quick!!)

Posted By: leon
I just want to bump this once more as I am turning in the headcount tomorrow for our Dinner....thanks to all who have said they will come have fun with us. The Embassy Suites Rosemont is where it will be and it's directly across from the Convention...All you will need to do is say "Network54" to someone at the hotel and you should be able to get to the dinner, once inside...I will try to post the name of the ballroom it will be in tomorrow. There will be 10-15 round tables of 10 to be seated at. Drinks start flowing at 6pm sharp as well as some appetizers.....Speakers (though I haven't told them yet) will start at about 7pm and Dinner will be served at 8:00-8:15, and we have the place till midnight. Last year there were only about 20-30 attendees at the end (my kind of guys) that had to be run out . And then I am sure there will be a very close bar (maybe in the hotel), for those that want to have a few more...though that will be Dutch ...Last year I took 2-3 Corona's out at the end but not sure how it will be this year to know if that can be accomodated. ............It is an open and free bar from 6:30-7:00, where drink tickets (which are also free) will be not be needed.....Once again I look forward to seeing everyone again....regards

ps...(my cell phone # is 214-282-4943)
