Posted By: MVSNYClooks great! i started doing the same thing months back...looks & feels very "pure" and old school, as you said. to answer the question above...the best is "Ultra Pro", 15 pocket sheets made specifically for tobacco cards. they are UV safe. i got mine at a card shop in brooklyn, i called the guy and he shipped me a box of 100 pages. you can also get them at almost any card show.

I still have my Cobb's and Elberfeld in slabs but I am thinking seriously about breaking them out. I have done the same thing with my T205's. And that is how I liked them the most. Currently, they reside in a small box, in stacks. That fits in a safety deposit box much more cost effectively. Great post!

Posted By: DarrenTed, Maybe I'll put my next set in series fashion <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14> I didn't crack out anything higher than a 4 unless it was in a GAI or SCD holder. Also working on a HOFer and star set in 5+-I don't plan cracking those out. It is useful for studying purposes, having the subjects side by side in alphabetical order does shed some light on T206 mysteries. I'm certain another set by series will be even more educational. Thanks for the kudos guys.

I find this arrangement provides me a greater appreciation of how this set was designed. I usually crack out every card, except "5's & 6's", that I eventually expect to replace with Vg-Ex cards. Then I can trade or sell the nicer Graded cards. TED Z

Posted By: Frank WakefieldI agree, sort by team! It is a learning experience. You can visually understand which teams had more cards. Highly recommended, that is how mine are now. Within the team, sort alphabetically by player's last name. And for players with multiple cards, sort by series. That way you can see how the card style changed, going from 'Cubs' across the shirt to 'Chicago' down the shirt. Definitely by team. That is how the old guys did it. I think they were right. Dr. Beckett's numbers were popular, and that got us all fouled up.

I am at about 120/220 in less than 2 months. Sorting them by team seems to work well. Or... if you want a little more protection for your cards, use these: <a href="http://nwcardsupplies.com/photos/tobaccotl" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://nwcardsupplies.com/photos/tobaccotl</a> These are mini toploaders designed for tobacco cards. They come 10 to a package (about $1.25-1.50 per package) and each package includes 10 toploaders and 10 plastic sleeves. Once the cards are in this toploader, you can put the entire toploader into the standard 9-pocket page.
