Posted By: quan
the 3rd bid was at $98! in my estimation the underbidder cost the high bid at least $200...

and yes i'm biased...i want prices to go down. i don't want posts encouraging higher bidding on caramels

Posted By: Matt
as Glenn pointed out, that card went $200 less than a PSA 5 that sold 3 weeks ago. VCP also shows one that sold in a 2006 Goodwin auction for just over $500, so I'd bet that there were other snipes that didn't get triggered; unlikely this card would have sold for $300.

Posted By: Tony Andrea
Jim beat me to it. That cards no better than an Sgc-20 or 30 with that crease which
is exactly what it sold for as far as value goes. Nothing shocking here IMO.

Tony
Posted By: leon
I went down the list of auctions last night and saw it. The crease in the middle is fairly distracting...and this card probably should have been a 30 imho. A 40 certainly isn't the end of the world but probably a grade too high. The problem is mainly the hobby market right now. In speaking with others that do some buying and selling everyone is being a little more careful in what they/we buy. Regular caramel prices are down 30%-40%, or more, in many cases. If this were a nice 40 it would have been, maybe $220....but put it down to a 30 and it might be $110-$125.....and with that crease it won't be an easy re-sell at too high of a price. So I think the price was about right.....It didn't go unnoticed.....It's just the market right now....best regards

Posted By: barrysloate
I sold several dozen cards on ebay in June after taking a two month hiatus. While a few did pretty well, overall prices were below average. I guess it still boils down to the better quality is still strong, while the more run-of-the-mill is soft.
