Posted By: fkw
Stock looks too thin. Also the closeup of the T206 with the T3 in background doesnt show the bright colors and surface texture of an authentic T3. The card stock looks paper thin on the T206 cards too.

My vote......homemade copies

The BIN price is also a good indicator. Im sure the seller is playing dumb.

But you never know
Posted By: Iggy...
Before, the rest of the board chims-in. Most of the warning signs are there! Type-o's, vague description, etc. But, I decided to take a chance, perhaps not my greatest moment but so be it.

Lovely Day...
Posted By: Frank B
All six items were taken from a book called "The Treasures of Major League Baseball".
The book was discussed here several months ago. The t206 cards
all have a MLB stamp in the lower right hand corner of the reverse. The
backs are all Sweet Caporal. The type on the front is more along the lines
of what it should be rather than the jet black type that many reprints
have.

Here is an EBay listing for the book which gives a description of some
of the reproduced items the book contains including all six of those
framed items.

http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Treasures-Of-Major-League-Baseball-Book_W0QQitemZ170232167770QQihZ007QQcategoryZ29223 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: Iggy...
Guess, I should be reading the board more often. Well, that was an expensive lesson. Thank you Frank, for imparting some wisdom. As the old saying goes...."a fool (me) and his money are soon parted..."

Lovely Day...

Posted By: jay wolt
"Three Awesome framed pictures and Tobacco Cards (probably reproductions) of Frank Chance, Johny Evers, and Mordecia "Three-Fingers" Brown from the LAST time the Chicago Cubs won a World Series (WOW! these guys are realy old). All 3 comed framed in a green wooden frame and will make a great addition for any Baseball or Nostalga collector."

Taken from the sellers description. So if thinks they are repros
you can bet they are. He had a ton of info about the 3 players
and I'm sure could find info on the T3 & T206 issues as well and
not have a Buy It Now at $100
So ya got a novelty lot of Brown, Evers & Chance and they will
look nice on a wall and it didn't cost a fortune.
Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
This reminds me of a similar book which featured repros of handwritten letters/lyrics by Bob Dylan.
