Posted By: David R
The majority of Drum backs that I have seen are really badly trimmed (for other T206s trimming seems to be the rare exception). Anyone know why all the trimmed Drums?

Posted By: Anthony S.
A large group (about 30) sold in a Hunt auction last year. They'd all been trimmed across the top by a previous owner in order to fit better in the old style plastic sheets that collectors used to keep their cards in (and some still do). A simpler time. I miss that.

Posted By: MVSNYC
if you are refering to all of the drums on the market now that are trimmed along the top edge, they all were auctioned in Hunt last year. i heard from a fellow collector, that they were most likely cut down to fit into some sort of sleeve or page.

Posted By: Jim Rivera
They all were from one find but the 30 or so that went in the first Hunt auction were the best of the bunch. I am pretty sure the find was closer to 50 cards. There was another Hunt auction right after the one that had 30 in it with several T206s that had alot of paper loss and also several T205s.
Some seemed tobe torn out of a scrap book and were only about a half of a card. I will try to find some scans.
There was a scan of Summers in a earlier Drum thread that was from that find and from the second auction.

Posted By: Cat
What amazes me is that for being so severly trimmed they still fetch such high prices. I got this one some time ago (I think it came from Hal's liquidation) for a very decent price.
