Posted By: <b>Jim Dale</b><p>A good friend of mine owned a music store, and UPS paid for damage to a grand piano about 1/10th of its cost. He told them to take it back and give him 100% of its cost and they told him to take it to court and refused.

If you're shipping Ground, they put a declared value on it for 50k, but items that are extraordinary (sports collectibles) are limited to $100 declared value maximum."<br /><br />Hope this helps a little.
