Posted By: Donald Miller
Hello,
I have a friend whos great uncle recently passed away. The uncle had always talked about the thrill of his life, attending a Yankee game in 1953. When my friend was going through his uncles belongings,he found the ticket stub from the game. It was played in Yankee stadium on August 7th of 1953. He wants to find out who played the Yankees that day and also would love a copy of the lineup card and or scorecard. He has searched the net and has been unable to come up with anything that old. He asked me how he could find the information. I told him I would ask the baseball "masterminds" on Network 54. If you can help I would appreciate answers to his questions. Thanks much

Don Miller email rellim@abe.midco.net

Posted By: DMcD
Donald-
I just emailed you a .pdf file of the New York Times article and boxscore of the NY-ChiSox game from their on-line archives. Yanks scored three of their runs on Mantle's inside-the-park homer. That would have been something to see.

DMcD

Vintage cards, scantily-clad Hawaiian maidens, uku-zillion penguins and more at . .
http://ImageEvent.com/kawika_o_ka_pakipika
